The following table compares and contrasts the requirements for production services for small and large scale events. Every event is unique and in some way, has unique requirements for the production. The chart bellow is a rough blueprint of the basic production elements involved.

Services

The Event Planner helps make any group more productive during meetings and entertained during non-working hours. They handle the booking of hotel accommodations and meeting space, transportation and many other travel details. Insulates the meeting attendees from mundane logistic.

An event planner gets the creative department involved. Professional Set, and A/V designers work to exacting standards using CAD based software to layout an integrated production design. The production design works with an overall theme, set, and room decor. The events almost always include a wide range of speech communication and live music entertainment.

Speaker Set up

Small Speakers on Stands: Distributed around venue (allowing constant volume over entire audience).

Suspended, or Ground Supported Loudspeakers: Complex Speaker systems and subsystems, controlled by a Production Engineer.

A/C Power

Low amperage requirement: One or two 15 amp "wall" outlet.

High amperage requirement and distribution needed: 3 phase "tie-in" at venue or generator for outdoors. 15, 30, and 100 amp distributed trunks.

Located anywhere: Low profile, basic controls for novice operators.

Front of House Control Area: Direction, Lighting, and Audio Production area with 2-way communication between operator stations, usually located on opposite wall from stage.

Front of House Control Area: Direction, Lighting, and Audio Production area with 2-way communication between operator stations, usually located on opposite wall from stage.
